As of May 17th, 2022: UH/HIMB COVID-19 Policy

We no longer require proof of vaccination or testing to participate in our programs, but UH policy is that all staff and students are up to date with their vaccinations before coming on campus. In addition, please do not attend our programs if:

  • You have new or worsening symptoms that could be COVID-19 and not attributable to a pre-existing condition.

  • You are immunocompromised and are a close contact of a COVID-19 positive individual.

  • You tested positive for COVID-19 and are on home isolation. You must isolate for 5 days after the date of last exposure and may return on day 6 if you have not had a fever within the past 24 hours and your symptoms are significantly improved. When you return to campus, you must wear a well-fitted mask at all times and not eat or drink around others until the full 10 days have passed.

  • You are subject to government-issued or a healthcare provider’s orders to quarantine.

For the safety of our staff and other visitors, we continue to require masks on: our boats and indoors in our classrooms through the summer. Please bring a mask with you. Out of doors, masks are not required, but  you consider using them when in close proximity to members of different families or our older tour guides. Visitors are, of course, most welcome to continue to wear masks in all situations if they desire. We will abide by any school guidelines that are more conservative than our guidelines.

These guidelines are, of course, subject to change.
